Hi, I'm Andrea Pinto
I am a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at ByteDance, where I work on Content Delivery Network (CDN) distributed systems performance optimization. I recently defended my thesis and graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Saint Louis University.
My doctoral research was focused on networking systems for efficient distributed machine learning under the guidance of Dr. Flavio Esposito. Currently at ByteDance, I monitor platform performance and build automation to optimize the edge routing infrastructure and minimize network bottlenecks.
Before my current SRE role, I worked as a Cloud Engineer at Ericsson in Italy, focusing on microservices migrations. I completed internships with the CDN SRE Performance team at ByteDance, the 5G Core Systems group at IMDEA Networks in Madrid, and Ericsson Research in Helsinki. I received my M.S. and B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Naples, Federico II.
